We are all by now familiar with the plight of teachers and students
should the levy fail. I bring to your attention another group that would
suffer -- our custodians.

Custodians are an integral part of our schools. Their duties are clear -
primarily, the cleaning of our school buildings and lunchroom duties. But
their dedication often goes far beyond that. Just about any parent who
spends time at their childs school can tell stories about the "extras"
custodians provide. They are also responsible for event set-up the
banquets, basketball games, meetings, etc.

Our custodians are already responsible for cleaning more square feet
than the national average. If the levy fails, they will be stretched
still further. And all this on an extended contract their union has
agreed to no raises through December; overtime cut 50 percent; no subs
until the fourth sick day.

   Please vote "Yes" November 4.
