OFFICE OF POLICY RESEARCH & ANALYSIS

EQUITY AID CALCULATION FOR FY04

SORTED BY INCOME ADJUSTED VALUATION PER PUPIL

Note: The adjusted valuation per pupil figure is calculated as follows:   (Unadjusted Valuation Per Pupil) - {30,000 X [1 - (District

Median Income / State Median Income)]}, where the unadjusted valuation per pupil is the average of FY01, FY02 and FY03

valuations divided by FY03 formula ADM.  The 30,000 is a constant and the state median income for TY01 is $29,123.  A threshold

adjusted valuation per pupil is then determined and the equity  aid is paid to all districts that fall below  that threshold figure based on

the following formula:   Equity Aid = [(Threshold Valuation Per Pupil - Adjusted Valuation Per Pupil) X 0.009] X Formula ADM Of

Previous Year<<  The threshold valuation figure for FY03 is $70,840.  This qualifies 117 school districts to receive equity funding.
